Voltixar 75mg/3ml (Diclofenac Sodium) for Intramuscular Use with OPC Ampoule. It is an injectable solution of Diclofenac Sodium, presented in OPC (One-Point-Cut) ampoules for intramuscular administration. This nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) provides rapid relief of pain, inflammation and fever. OPC ampoules are designed for safer and more efficient opening, minimizing the risk of accidents and contamination.

Diclofenac 75mg/3ml is indicated for short-term treatment of acute pain, including postoperative pain, dental pain and musculoskeletal pain; pain relief in acute gout attacks; management of pain in renal and biliary colic; and reduction of inflammation in conditions such as sprains, strains and other sports injuries.

Diclofenac is an NSAID that acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase, which interferes with the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in the process of inflammation and pain. It exhibits analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties.

Standard adult dose: one 75mg/3ml ampoule administered by deep intramuscular route. Do not exceed one ampoule (75mg) twice a day. Use for more than 2 consecutive days without medical evaluation is not recommended. Administration should be performed in the upper outer quadrant of the gluteus to minimize the risk of nerve or vascular injury.

Reduced particle emission upon opening. Enamel flakes from the ceramic rings can no longer fall into the medication. Cleaner break appearance, reduced risk of sharp glass spikes when opening, reducing the risk of injury. Significant reduction in the risk of ampoules that are very difficult to open.

Administer with caution in patients with a history of gastric ulcers or gastrointestinal disorders. Evaluate renal and hepatic function before starting treatment, especially in prolonged treatments. Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to diclofenac and in patients in whom asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis are precipitated by acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.

Contraindicated in patients with active gastric or intestinal ulcer, bleeding or perforation. Contraindicated in patients with established congestive heart failure (NYHA II–IV), ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease and/or cerebrovascular disease. Contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy and in patients with renal or hepatic failure.

Voltixar contains Diclofenac sodium BP 75mg / 3ml and is presented in a box of 10 and 100 ampoules, following the British Pharmacopoeia standard.
