Dosage and Administration

  • The dose should be adjusted according to pain severity and the patient’s response.
  • Typical starting dose: 50–100 mg every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 400 mg/day.
  • For IV administration, dilute in sterile solution and administer slowly over 2–3 minutes.
  • For IM administration, inject directly into the muscle tissue.

New OPC Ampoules

  • Reduced particle emission upon opening. Enamel flakes from the ceramic rings can no longer fall into the medication.
  • Cleaner break appearance, reduced risk of sharp glass spikes when opening, reducing the risk of injury.
  • Significant reduction in the risk of ampoules that are very difficult to open.

Clinical Considerations

  • Use only when the benefits outweigh the risks.
  • Verify that non-opioid treatments are insufficient before prescribing.
  • Initiate and adjust treatment under medical supervision, considering the patient’s response and tolerance.

Safety and Precautionary Measures

  • Monitor patients for respiratory depression, especially within the first 24–72 hours of starting therapy and following dose increases.
  • Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment.
  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tramadol or opioids.
