Gastroesophageal Reflux
Gasflum is used to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, such as heartburn, acid regurgitation and chest pain related to acid reflux.
GASFLUM (esomeprazole) is a medication that belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and is used to reduce acid production in the stomach. It is a highly effective medication in the treatment of various conditions related to excess gastric acid.

Gasflum is used to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, such as heartburn, acid regurgitation and chest pain related to acid reflux.
It is effective in the treatment of erosive esophagitis, an inflammation of the lining of the esophagus caused by gastric acid.
It helps heal and prevent the recurrence of ulcers in the stomach or duodenum, which can be caused by Helicobacter pylori infection or the use of certain nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
In rare cases of this syndrome, in which the body produces excessive amounts of gastric acid, Gasflum can help control acid production.
In the lining of the stomach, there are cells called parietal cells that secrete hydrochloric acid into the gastric lumen. Hydrochloric acid is essential for the digestion of food, but excessive production can lead to problems such as gastroesophageal reflux, erosive esophagitis and peptic ulcers. Gasflum acts by specifically and potently inhibiting an enzyme called proton pump ATPase (H+/K+-ATPase), which is found in the parietal cells of the stomach.
Proton pump ATPase is fundamental to the acid secretion process in the stomach. By inhibiting this enzyme, Gasflum blocks the final stage of gastric acid production, significantly reducing the amount of acid secreted in the stomach.
An important characteristic of Gasflum is its prolonged effect. After oral administration, the medication is absorbed into the bloodstream and accumulates in the parietal cells of the stomach, where it exerts its action by inhibiting proton pump ATPase. This results in prolonged suppression of gastric acid secretion.
How Gasflum works
Gasflum®Esomeprazole
Gasflum works by inhibiting the action of the proton pump in the parietal cells of the stomach. This proton pump is responsible for the production of gastric acid in the stomach. By inhibiting it, Gasflum reduces the amount of gastric acid secreted, which relieves symptoms and allows the healing of ulcers and reflux-related esophageal lesions.
